Everything about our government today is a fallacy, which is strange but true.
When we think of our government, what immediately comes to mind? If it’s the inefficiency, or the dysfunction, or the lack of a due dependence and responsibility of the people, or how it’s burdened with bureaucracy to the point it gets nothing done at a high cost, or what it does get done does not address the problems it’s intended to solve, it’s because the current embodiment of our government is built on one fallacy after another, and now our fallacies have their own fallacies.
The only way we are ever going to resolve these issues is to begin to discuss our government together as a people and as a society starting with the purpose of government, because that single characteristic defines the governing system necessary to address that purpose and how that governing system must be assembled and operated. Today all we have is talk of democracy and how the other side, whichever is different from the side you are on, is destroying our democracy, but if we look closely we cannot even define what constitutes that democracy and how it functions. It’s time for that endless cycle of fallacy to end.
On this radio station we are going to discuss these issues of the purpose, assembly, and operation of government, including defining democracy, and democratic and republican forms of government, how they are assembled and how the function. It might seem like a daunting task, but once we have the basics, then the actual implementation and operation is straightforward and simple by comparison to our current embodiment of our government.
These issues will be discussed in a modular form so that anyone can join in the discussion at any point and still be able to refer to other concepts what were previously discussed. The first topic will be the purpose of government, consensus choice, and collective decision making because these topics define democracy and democratic and republican forms of government. As I become more familiar with the platform I will update this site to make it easier to access and study specific concepts, but I will always address all questions that are put through comments on blog post or radio discussions.
We can fix this together!
